Setting Up UniFi from Scratch

You've purchased a Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine (UDM) and several access points. What's next? Step-by-step instructions.

Step 1: Connect UDM

Connect ISP cable to WAN port (blue)

Connect computer to any LAN port (black)

Connect power supply

Wait for boot (white light ~2-3 minutes)

Step 2: Initial Setup

Open browser → go to https://unifi or 192.168.1.1

Create Ubiquiti account

Follow setup wizard: network name, password, timezone (Asia/Tashkent)

Step 3: Connect Access Points

Connect AP to PoE switch or UDM PoE port

Wait for boot

In UniFi interface → Devices → click "Adopt"

Step 4: Create Guest Network

Settings → WiFi → Create New

Enable "Guest Hotspot"

Set speed limit and client isolation
